About the Mortar w/Railway transporter:
The Morser Karl was a monumental self-propelled heavy siege mortar that boasted either a 54cm or 60cm barrel. These monstrosities weighed 124 tons each, and when hitched up to the twin railroad trucks via cantilevered beams for transportation, they made for a colossal assembly. The assortment includes two Morser Karls complete with their railroad assemblies. The first item is the 60cm-barrelled “Odin” in a standard Panzer Grey paint scheme, while the second is the 60cm “Thor” wearing a three-color camouflage scheme.
About the Mortar w/Ammunition Carrier:
The heavy siege mortars could achieve a rate of fire of only six rounds per hour. However, this still amounted to a massive amount of explosive delivered when you consider that each 60cm shell weighed a massive 2.17 tons! Only six of these 11.37-meter long mortars were ever produced.
The two pre-assembled and pre-painted Morser Karls available in the package are the 60cm Adam in an early war Panzer Grey paint scheme, and a sand-colored Eva with a 60cm barrel. Each gun has a PzKpfw IV Munitionsschlepper, used for reloading the mortar. These tracked vehicles are highly detailed and also carry the 60cm shells ready for loading. But there’s also more! There are two 2cm Flak anti-aircraft guns and six figures to populate the mammoth vehicles. All of these items can be displayed on the included grassland diorama base.
