The Panther Ausf. G was the third production series of this hugely successful German tank design. A total of 3,126 Panther G tanks were manufactured between March 1944 and April 1945. Incorporating improvements over the earlier Ausf.D and A, the Panther G boasted a redesigned hull with increased armor protection and simplified construction. Dragon has previously released a 1/72 scale of a Panther G, and this accurate miniature kit has proved to be a hit with small-scale modelers. However, a tank is only as good as its crew, and so Dragon has come up with a fine set of 1/72 scale tank crewmen to man its Panther!

Building upon the popularity of earlier releases, this is Dragon’s third tank-figure combination. In fact, the four crewmen are based on an original 1/35 scale tank crew, yet have suffered no diminution of detail in this smaller scale. These crewmen are alert to the threat of Allied aircraft diving down on their tank, a danger that became more common as WWII wore on. Wearing typical panzer uniforms, this crew is perfectly designed for a Panther Ausf.G, though of course the figures could also be adapted to fit other German armored vehicles as well. With both a tank and four crew figures included, this set provides an instant vignette for a dramatic late-war scene.
