Alitalia (Linee Aeree Italiane) is the national airline of Italy and headquartered in Milan. It operates services to domestic and international destinations. Its main base is Malpensa Airport (MXP), Milan with a hub at Leonardo Da Vinci International Airport (FCO), Rome.
In November 2002, the Alitalia fleet took delivery of its first B777, a twinjet of advanced design, replacing the ex-jumbo of the skies, the B747, on intercontinental routes.
The aircraft represents the very best that present-day aeronautical technology can provide, and has a cabin as comfortable as possible.
About the 777-200:
The 777-200 is available with a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) from 229 to 247 tonnes and range capability between 3780 and 5150 nautical mile (7000 to 9500 km).
The basic 777-200 is powered by two 74,000 lbf (329 kN) Pratt & Whitney PW4074 turbofans, 75,000 lbf (334 kN) General Electric GE90-75Bs, or 75,000 lbf (334 kN) Rolls Royce Trent 875s.
