This made it explosively popular from its very first day sales. This model especially developed which to counter an English light weight sport car. Many of the VW Karmann-Ghia exported to America where they won the hearts of the American enthusiasts. The VW Karmann-Ghia equipped the similarity engine and chassis of the export VW Beetle.
